November 2012

Life slowed down a little bit in November.  We didn't have guest every weekend, but would be hosting my family for Thanksgiving so were busy getting ready for that.

One exciting thing that happened was an impromptu visit from a fireman.  I was getting the kids down for their nap/quiet time when I saw the truck.  I couldn't pass up the chance for Hudson to see it so we headed out to the balcony to wave.  They stopped and told us they had something for us as they started to get the stabalizers out I ran to get my camera.  The fireman made his way up and delivered stickers.

So excited!
(Hudson didn't want to turn away from the truck)

Our next "event" was election day.  After reading a story and watching some School House Rock the kids and I headed off to vote.
So proud of their I "helped" vote stickers

Annabelle's school participates in Operation Christmas Child so we took the opportunity to give.  Annabelle was very serious during our shopping and kept reminding Hudson that this was for other kids and didn't ask for anything for herself (I was very proud).  We packed our boxes and brought them in along with a few extras for the kids to pack boxes at school.

Our next project was to make cupcakes for the preschool to sell at the Church Holiday Bazaar to raise money to ship the Operation Christmas Child boxes.

Hudson is a handful, but a lot of fun.  Here are a couple pictures of Hudson doing what he does.

Nap time, can't sleep without his cars and trucks.

Before we knew it we were headed into Thanksgiving break, but not before Annabelle's school performance.  We made some "Thankful For You" treats for her teachers and enjoyed the show.

Then the family was here.  We enjoyed the full house (13 people under one roof), time together, and of course the food.

Each day leading up to Thanksgiving the kids came up with one thing they were thankful for.  It was  a good exercise for them and entertaining for us.  Annabelle covered the major things and some of her favorite toys.  Hudson had trouble getting past trucks: tow, dump, fire, Daddy's the list goes on.  Looking forward to see how their lists change over the years.

October 2012

October brought our first visitors, and second, third, and fourth.  We are very happy that so many people are willing to make the trip down to see us, that we are only a drive away, and that our guest room is getting some use.

Our first visitors were the Fishers.  Tiffany and Terry were down for a wedding and made some time to see us.  We had a great time visiting, eating and drinking and as usual it went by too fast.

While Tiffany and Terry were here the Eagle Fire Department had an open house.  We couldn't pass up the chance to see the fire trucks up close, after that we checked out the Eagle Saturday Market.

Our next guests included Serenity and three of the kids.  They had a break at school and decided to spend some of it with us.  It was great having the cousins together again, and to have Serenity around to help cook and sew Annabelle's Halloween costume.

A day after Serenity took off Sam's parents arrived.  We enjoyed showing them around our new home including Sam's office and the Boise Market.  We also managed to get some work done, putting in some shelves in the garage so we are now able to park in it.   Since they just celebrated their anniversary a week earlier "we" (mostly Sam) cooked them a five course dinner to celebrate.   In all the excitement we had over the weekend  I didn't take any pictures.

We still managed to have some fun between visitors.  With two trips to pumpkin patches; one with MOPS one with Annabelle's school, a pajama story time and trick-or-treating at Sam's office we kept plenty busy.

My parents made a trip down the last weekend of the month.  Again we had a good time showing them around the area and just spending time together.  Sam and I even managed to get out of the house alone for a few hours.

We ended the month with some Halloween fun.  We had mummy hot dogs for lunch enjoyed a Halloween movie, and had a jak-o'-lantern pizza before heading out into our neighborhood for some trick-or-treating.  It was a great end to one fun-filled month.
