April 2011

In April we had our first guests of 2011, the Newhouse family.   We had not seen them in a year and were excited to catch up and meet their new addition Alina, who is a week older than Hudson.

Visiting the library frog

During their visit we spent a day in NYC we had lots of firsts this trip, first subway ride, first time to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, we also walked around the financial district and down to Ground Zero before heading home.

After a day in the city with kids, Sam and I took it "easy" by staying home with all three kids so Brian and Kendra could explore the city.

The rest of their visit we stuck close to home, exploring the town of Ridgefield and a bit of Long Island Sound at Sherwood Island State Park.

Look at all the seashells!

The visit with the Newhouse family was a lot of fun and went by much too quickly.

Later in the month we attended the Stew Leonard's Easter Egg "Hunt", not so much a hunt as go through and collect eggs and get pictures with characters, but it was fun all the same and perfect for their age.

Earlier in the month I had promised Annabelle that on the next nice day we would take a trip to the park and have a picnic.  That day finally arrived April 26, we packed a lunch and went to not one, but two parks.

Here are some more pictures I couln't leave out.

Our Princess turns 3!

Waking up as a three-year-old

We were lucky to have Sam home the entire week, so Annabelle was able to open a couple of gifts first thing.

Gift from neighbor in Spokane.
How we miss you Nancy.

She couldn't wait to get it on, and sing with her Princess Sing-A-Long
After a nice song and dance we headed into New York to the Central Park Zoo

Waiting for the train

More singing, she is singing "happy birthday to me", to Hudson.

Probably her favorite animal at the zoo

Net in the children's zoo, probably her favorite thing at the zoo.
Hudson enjoyed it too, finally out of the backpack and able to move.

Back at home we enjoyed some pizza while watching Tangled (one of her gifts) before ripping into the rest of them and eating cake.

The gifts, see a theme here?
